January 21, 2010 - A Helping Hand

A Helping Hand

A helping hand is priceless. In recent months, I've been going through a lot of hard work, trying to get my life on track. Nothing seemed to be going as planned until just recently. After a grueling attempt at pursuing an entirely different career path, I am lucky enough to perhaps find my calling all thanks to a little bit of help from others. I spent 15 weeks at the Academy of Art taking some drawing classes in an attempt to pursue a new academic career and quite hopefully a new life career as well as an animator. Art has always been a huge part of my life, but I never pursued it earnestly enough. I was convinced I wasn't good enough. Others have told me otherwise but I was just afraid of being told I wouldn't be able to cut it in something I had a passion for. But now after a grueling semester, I've been accepted into the Masters of Fine Arts program! I couldn't believe it! I didn't think I could make it but everyone else did. If you were one of those people, thank you. I really appreciate it. If I didn't have the help from others, I may have just given up on this entirely. Pass blessings where you go. Lend a helping hand. You'll find that you'll be the one to feel blessed.

And to pass along something to you listeners, Public Address returns after a long hiatus with session 007. Head on over to the DJing section for tracklist and the mp3s!

Whenever I'm by the water, my thoughts wander from place to place and memory to memory. I look back on the missed opportunities. I say to myself, "I should have done this," or "I should have said that," or even "I wish things turned out differently." It's scary to realize what little choices we make can have an enormous impact later on in life. There are infinitely many potentialities that occur day-in and day-out but we only get to live out one of them.

Follow your heart and may our thoughts precede our actions.

July 19, 2009 - Meant To Bee

Meant To Bee

If you have a sound, let it ring. If you have a word, speak it. If you have a special moment, capture it. If you have a dream, make it real.

Time is something we never have. It's something we have to make. Let inspiration drive you, because time is short. For these are the things that are meant to be.

November 20, 2008 - Climb Higher

Climb Higher

Just when I got use to writing "2008" on all of my paperwork, I have to prepare myself to start writing "2009." Where did all the time go? Did I accomplish enough in the time that was given to me? As I ask myself these questions in the midst of every crazy thing that's happened I do know that I'm, in the very least, a little older and a little wiser, always climbing higher towards what I aspire to be. Whatever progress I've made in developing myself this year, no matter how small it is, is still progress made and I can be proud of that. There may be times where I might slip, but as long as I remain diligent in working towards who I want to be, accomplishments will be inevitable. As I look up, I see there is still much more to climb. My vision is blurry, but as long as I keep climbing I will surely find my way.

I'll see you at the top.

September 5, 2008 - Looking On

Looking On

Things have changed for the better these past few months. I've landed a job as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. It has been a challenging job. It's a never ending fight for clients, selling training, and selling supplements. Despite these challenges, I feel it is all worth it to help change the lives of others. The feeling of helping others realize their potential... the feeling of giving someone hope to accomplish their goals... the feeling of getting their youth back... these are the things I have been called to do at this point and time. And though I know what I am suppose to do right now, I can't help but to look on. Where am I heading? I know the road up ahead has many twists and turns in store with many unseen obstacles, but I get the feeling this is going to be one drive I'm going to enjoy.

Anyone need a lift?

May 13, 2008 - Scapegoat

Goat

We're all responsible for something we've done whether we like it or not. I tell you, I don't like the feeling anymore than you do. It's easy to shift the blame on everything and everyone else. It's a second nature tendency of ours thanks to our pride. Often times we hold onto it for dear life only to realize we've only been grasping for straws. There are times where we dislike where we are and we blame it on outside circumstances but let's be real here. We're where we are probably because we chose to be. Now we may not choose specifically to be in a tight spot, but it's ultimately our choices that bring us to where we stand at any given point. If you're in a tight spot in life right now I'm sure you don't want to choose to be stuck in it. Right?

So let's choose otherwise.

March 25, 2008 - Current Thoughts and Old Thoughts

Paintball

Okay. So it looks like I've been neglecting this site a bit. I haven't really forgotten it, but I've become quite busy with a lot of things. I've been studying music theory, trying to learn the piano, working on an internship with Gamehelper.com, taking photography gigs and classes, and studying to be a certified personal physical trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. To the right is one of the photographs I took at a series of paintball games in the wilderness a couple weekends ago. Normally, a sane person would hide out and take snapshots far away, but I ran around on the frantic battlefield taking some up-close photos. I got shot at plenty of times. I have this tendency to risk going through a lot of pain for something I want.

With shots like these, I'd say it's worth all the trouble in the world.

P.S. Thoughts on a Shoreline mix is now available at the bottom of the DJing section! I had made this one a while ago but it was a gift for my friend Dianne. I didn't want to cheapen the gift by putting it online right away... but after all these months, I think it's okay to share it with everyone else finally. Enjoy!

January 1, 2008 - New Start

No image to bump this post this time. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I uploaded a one hour set called "Spectrum" to start the New Year. It's at the very bottom of the page of the DJing section in "Other Mixes".

December 20, 2007 - 24

24

Today is my birthday. I would like to thank those that took the time to wish me a happy birthday today, especially during the holiday season. As the year winds down, everyone is usually too busy with the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and family gatherings. As a result my birthdays are usually quiet. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It gives me time to reflect on the ups and downs of the year, lost hopes and new found ones, accomplishments, and future tasks to come. Though I have grown and matured a little this past year, I still feel none the wiser about the life path that lies ahead and what decisions I should be making. Now 24 years old, I stand tall optimistic hoping the answers will become clearer. I know not what I search for, but I have a feeling it's somewhere on the walk up ahead.

I better bring a jacket. It's rather cold out.

P.S. Public Address 004 now available in the DJing section!
